Sunset Walk

Women of West Cumbria, join us at Ennerdale for a chance to get outside, explore the local area, and experience the forest at dusk. This is a free event open to west Cumbrian women (and children with accompanying adult).

The event starts at The Gather cafe at 7:30pm to talk about the local area, stars, the walk and the dark before heading to Bowness Knott carpark at 8ish to start to the walk and sunset should be starting.  Tea and coffee available.

We will cover 3-4 miles of trails, enjoying the peace and beauty of the area by dusk, and weather permitting, stop for some amazing sunset views, and maybe even some stars.
As an amateur astronomer Jo, your walk leader will help you have some fun finding the major constellations and will have star maps and guides on hand. 

Please be aware the route will be on a range of surfaces and may be wet and muddy. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear - it will cool quickly as the sunsets. There may also be some midges so insect repellent/midge spray maybe advisable!!

We have several fab head torches available to borrow, or please your own. A red filter is ideal for when we stop to star gaze otherwise we will be turning the torches off!!

We suggest you bring a drink and maybe a snack, especially if bringing youngsters.
Children under 12 must be within reach of their responsible appropriate adult at all times.
