Google Expeditions

Bringing the forest to life from the classroom or home, through virtual field trips

Take the next generation on a virtual tour of the forest

For the first time in our 100 year history, we are offering the opportunity to take school children on virtual tours of our forests, by partnering with Google Expeditions.

From the classroom or home, students will be able to visit a tree nursery, explore forest machinery and learn about different habitats for wildlife. They will be immersed in the world of sustainable timber production, learning about the importance of plant health and how woodlands are looked after for wildlife.

Students will also hear from people working in the forest, opening up a world of exciting and rewarding career possibilities.

Suitable for Key Stage 2 and 3, Google Expeditions can be viewed on mobile devices, tablets and internet browsers. The experience is best when using a virtual reality headset, but you can use a web browser, tablet or smartphone in 2D.

To access the virtual tours, download the free Google Expeditions app to your device and search for 'England's forests'.
