Follow the dog trail at Cannock Chase

Follow the Dog Trail mountain bike route

This classic cross-country MTB trail was first launched in 2005. The trail surface is very variable: expect loose stone, roots and mud. There are a lot more climbs compared to Perry’s Trail, including one big incline.

This trail includes technical features you’d expect to find when progressing to red (difficult) and for those more experienced, several black options to try. Expect:

  • flowing singletrack
  • medium berms
  • step ups and step downs
  • rock gardens
  • boardwalks
  • rollers
  • jumps and drop offs

The black difficult graded lines include large and unavoidable rocks and rock gardens.

The trail is managed in partnership with Chase Trails. Current highlights include the recently built ‘Twist and Shout’, plus the usual classics ‘High Voltage’, 'Son of Chainslapper’ and ‘Snakes ‘n’ Adders’.
