Events at Sherwood Pines
- Meet at the visitor centre
We can’t believe the next school holidays are the summer holidays, the first half of this year has absolutely flown by. We’ve got an action-packed summer of cycling planned, read on to find out more about our holiday camps this summer.
Sherwood Pines is a brilliant, centrally located off-road venue. The site has a mix of trails on offer, ranging from Green (beginner) through to Red (advanced) & don’t forget the bike park jumps and downhill tracks. It’s really got something for everyone, which is why we LOVE to coach from the venue. Throughout the summer we’re offering two types of camps running from Sherwood, our blue trail group & our Red trail group…
Blue Masterclass
Riders must be able to ride a lap of Sherwood Pines blue route, with adequate fitness to pedal up a short hill. To get the most out of the day it’s useful to be able to stand up on the pedals and cruise on uneven terrain.

Can parents watch?
Due to the nature of the trails and coaching it's not possible for parents to stay with us for the whole day. We start the sessions on an open area close to the car park and parents are welcome to stay and watch us for this first part. Once we head out onto the trails parents don't accompany the group. In the case of nervous youngsters you're welcome to bring them along 10mins early to the session, that way they can get to know the coaches while a familiar face is close by.
What equipment is needed?
· Working bike – this doesn’t have to be a high-end model but must be of good quality suitable for advanced off-road terrain and in good working order. If you’re not sure if your bike is sufficient then feel free to contact us on team@clancybriggs.co.uk & our coaches can advise you further.
· Packed lunch (with lots of high-energy food)
· Spare innertube (that fits your bike)
· Warm clothing and waterproofs. You can’t have enough of these even if the weather looks great, we’ll be outside all day and once cold or wet it’s hard to warm up again.
· Plenty of snacks and drinks. Cycling is hard work, so lots of high-energy snacks (bananas, flapjacks and jelly babies are popular) are important. Plenty of water/drinks.
· Gloves – cold hands are horrible. Crashing without gloves is also unpleasant.
· Working bike + your helmet
· Sun cream (it’s always sunny in Sherwood)
