Would you love to forage?
Maybe you’d like to learn how to identify wild edibles but just don’t know where to start?
Or perhaps you’d love to spice up your meals with a variety of nourishing foraged flowers, fruit, leaves and seeds and improve your health and wellbeing?
Whatever your reason for wanting to learn how to forage, coming on this mindful course for beginners is the perfect place to start.
Delivered by a passionate and experienced forager and educator, you will have plenty of opportunity to really hone your observation skills and mindfully connect with the edible plants you find. Building up your confidence in a fun and informative way.
The course will cover the many benefits of foraging with fun facts and interesting stories, how to stay safe and legal as well as foraging etiquette and sustainability. You will learn about plant identification, poisonous lookalikes and basic botany for beginners. Following the foraging walk in the forest we will share recipe ideas, tasty treats and creative cooking with the new ingredients!

Essential information

Cost: £50 per person
Participants must be 16 years +
Duration: 6 hours
Any participants aged 16 or 17 years of age must be accompanied by a participating adult
Please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt 10am start
Please dress for the weather outside and ensure you are wearing suitable footwear for a day in the forest
You must bring a packed lunch on the day or alternatively you can visit the café on-site.Parking is offered at a discounted rate of £4 per car for the day in addition to the ticket price
You will be asked to complete a form to state any additional requirements you may have when booking
Accessible facilities are available on-site, however due to the nature of the event and terrain this event may not be suitable to those with limited mobility.
