Grisedale grind fell race

Keswick Athletic Club are holding the Grisedale Grind Fell Race. 

This is the first of a pair of races run for charity.  Prizes, including Lord and Lady of the Forest, will be presented after the second race Lord’s Seat. Entry fees are all going to the Great North Air Ambulance.  

This race is an out and back following a forest trail and then going up the ridge to Grisedale summit and returning by the same route, 4km with 480m of ascent.  Runners are advised to keep to the left of the wall on their return till they have passed the ascending runners.

Competitors must be equipped with the following kit, which is mandatory under FRA requirements:
•    Waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and attached hood)
•    Other body cover e.g. thermal vest
•    Hat and gloves
•    Compass
•    Whistle
•    Map of the route and surrounding area
•    Emergency food
Whether the kit is carried during the race, is at the discretion of the race organiser and not the individual runner. Random kit checks may take place at the start of the race.
Fell shoes are advisable for this course.
