Self-guided visits to High Lodge

Let us help you plan your perfect visit

If you are planning to bring a group to High Lodge you must email eafd.education@forestryengland.uk to book, at least two weeks before you visit, so that we can help you to plan and prepare for your visit.

High Lodge is a great place to explore and discover the forest environment. If you are planning your own visit then follow our links on the right for some useful information to get the most out of your day and to stay safe.

We now have Coney Copse, our dedicated education area which includes a shelter with covered seating for up to 30 children and is located near the start of our nature trail. You can request to reserve this for your visit on your booking form, hire is based on a first come first serve basis.

Although we don't offer led sessions, you can book a Forestry England staff member to meet you at the start of your visit and give you a ten minute introduction to Forestry England and High Lodge. Your group will learn about how we manage the forest for people, wildlife and timber and we can link the talk to the aims of your visit.

Self guided resources

There are lots of options for you to lead your group in a variety of activities including our Ranger in a Bag, the Nature Trail, Orienteering, Disc Golf, as well as our free downloadable resources.

Hidden Heritage at High Lodge - Heritage Lottery funded project
