School visits to Wenchford

Close to Blakeney and nestled deep within the Forest of Dean, Wenchford is a great place for an educational forest visit thanks to Blackpool Brook offering opportunities for field studies.

A classroom with no walls

The living, breathing forest is a versatile learning space, with room to think and space to explore. 

Plan sensory exploration or wildlife and habitat spotting with younger children. Older children can see how ecosystems work, undertake field studies or explore the science behind the tree lifecycle.  

Learning in a forest is also a practical way to immerse your class in a range of subjects. Spark students' imagination by delivering a lesson on any topic, using the setting as inspiration.

Visits must be booked in advance by emailing learning.west-central@forestryengland.uk

Please note:

• prime dates (May, June, July) book up quickly.
• only one school can be on site at one time.
• numbers are restricted to 70 students, although larger groups may be considered.
• a risk assessment and copy of public liability insurance will need to be provided.
