Sustainable designer, Linda Row will teach eco-friendly dyeing techniques using a variety of natural fibres and plant materials foraged from the forest of Westonbirt. Foraged colour will be an example of sustainable, closed-loop production with zero air miles, exemplifying the abundance of natural colour we have in the UK.
Students will be taught safe methods for dyeing a range of natural fibres, including wool, silk and hemp. There will be an opportunity to experiment with an assortment of materials, including bark, leaves, berries and flowers.
Linda is a sustainable clothing and textile designer and to accompany the workshops, will be exhibiting contemporary textiles and garments dyed with foraged plants at Lansdowne Hall, Stroud during SIT Select in May and at Ruskin Mill in September.
