Event details

In this workshop, you will have the chance to explore Westonbirt's historic woodland, while collecting leaves, blossom and early summer flowers to record on paper. We will cover the basics of botanical illustration, watercolours and observational drawing in a room full of blooms. After lunch, you will put your newly learned skills to use and create a watercolour “standing” card or artist’s book of your choosing. At the end of the day you will have your own piece of artwork to take home and know all you need to get started in the world of watercolours.

Art and creativity is a fantastic way to incorporate nature into our lives and appreciate the changing seasons; there is no better place to immerse yourself in this the Arboretum.

Lunch is not provided but tea, coffee, and cake will be on hand all day. All materials (and flowers!) are included, however if you have art supplies that you’d like to test, please feel free to bring them along.
