Events at Sherwood Pines
- Meet at the Forest Classroom
Join us for a wonderful evening exploring the night sky!
We will take a tour of the beautiful seasonal constellations, star clusters and observe planets and moons with our powerful telescopes.
This event is suitable for all abilities, however if you are a beginner we will introduce you to stargazing, guide you through how to observe the night sky and give you tips about the best equipment to use.

Saturday 7th October 2023 | We will take a tour of the beautiful summer constellations and also hunt down the magnificent planet of Saturn. Our powerful telescopes will reveal its exquisite rings and we'll keep eyes peeled for Jupiter rising in the east! There'll also be a colourful beginner's presentation. |
Friday 1st December 2023 | Jupiter is riding high in the sky at and putting on a great display this year. We'll use telescopes to spy its moons and beautiful markings. There'll also be a tour of the Autumn night sky with its stunning star clusters, plus the moon will rising in the east.. And we'll have a colourful beginner's presentation and plenty of tips on equipment. |

Sherwood Pines, Kings Clipstone, Nottingham, NG21 9JL
Age suitability: 8 years + (Children under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult)
Duration: 7.30pm - 9.45pm (2 hours and 15 minutes)
Price: £16.50 per person
In addition to the standard terms and conditions the following terms also apply:
- All children aged 8 - 17 years must be accompanied by a paying/participating adult
- Please arrive 15 minutes early for a prompt start
- This event will take place regardless of weather or cloud cover.
- Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the forest at night and dress suitably for the weather and temperature.
- If you have them, please bring a torch, binoculars and a telescope (not essential)
- Hot drinks will be provided throughout the event
- Parking will be discounted by 50% to £5 and is payable when leaving the car park in addition to the ticket price
- Accessible facilities are available, however due to the nature of the event and terrain this event may not be suitable to those with limited mobility
- Dogs are not permitted for this event.
