Activity timetable for Thames Chase
Thames Chase Community Woodlands offers a variety of activities as part of the Feel Good in the Forest project. These activities are free to take part in and include optional time at the end for refreshments and socialising. You can self-refer to the project or be referred by a support organisation or worker.
Places are booked as a block of free sessions - you must book your space and register in advance to take part in these sessions.
Nordic walking: Thursdays 10:00am to 11:00am
Nordic walking is a low impact walk using poles, which creates an enhanced technique to work both upper and lower body. When done correctly it can use 90% of the body’s muscles. It is a fun and social activity that can be enjoyed throughout the year. It's ideal for people that haven’t exercised in a while.
Current dates for 2025 are: 24, 31 July 2025.
Future dates: 11, 18 and 25 September and 2, 9, 16 October 2025
Equipment will be provided.

Buggy walk: Mondays 10:00am to 11:00am - September
Join a free led walk for new parents, in partnership with Havering Children's Centre, at Thames Chase in Upminster, RM14 3NS.
Boost your wellbeing on a gentle led walk around Thames Chase Community Woodlands with fellow new parents. You’re welcome to stay for a free cuppa and a chat after at Thames Chase Forest Centre.

Winter Wellbeing Day: 17 January 2026
Save the date for our Winter Wellbeing Day, a partnership between Forestry England - Thames Chase and the Thames Chase Trust.
This Winter, come to your local community woodland to try taster activities in nature, to boost your health and wellbeing. Further details to follow.
