Join a monthly guided walk with our knowledgeable staff and expert volunteers as they guide you around Bedgebury National Pinetum.
Together, you'll discover the seasonal highlights of the National Pinetum. As no two walks are the same, you might find a hidden gem or a new favourite spot!
Conifer identification for beginners - Thursday 4 September
With 615 conifer species in six distinct families, it can be hard to know which one is which! Learn how to differentiate between the tree species using this year's newly formed cones and needles on this expert-led guided walk.
Autumn Colour - Thursday 2 October, Saturday 11 October, Monday 20 October, Sunday 26 October
Did you know that not all conifers are evergreen? Spot the signs of the changing season and enjoy this colourful guided walk in the world's largest conifer collection.
The road less travelled - Thursday 6 November
Journey through lesser-known paths and secluded corners of the National Pinetum with curator, Dan Luscombe, uncovering rare specimens and stories that reveal more about this unique landscape.
Christmas trees - Thursday 4 December
Learn fascinating stories behind these iconic trees, how they became symbols of Christmas, and the unique ways different cultures celebrate them. This guided walk will take you to majestic spruces, firs, and other exotic conifers that have inspired holiday traditions around the globe.
We also offer free drop-in Centenary guided walks.

Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, Lady Oak Lane, Goudhurst, TN17 2SJ
Do I need to book? Yes, booking is essential.
How long? Approximately 1.5 hours.
How much? £5 per person or £4 for Forestry England members.
Where to meet? Meet in the atrium at the Visitor Centre 5-10 mins before the start of the walk
Dogs allowed? Dogs are not permitted on guided walks (except assistance dogs)
What to wear? Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor walking.
Accessibility? Most of the guided walks take place mostly on hard-standing stone paths in the National Pinetum. Some walks will take participants off the main paths onto grassy and uneven surfaces.
Walk distance? All of the guided walks will be approximately 2.4 km (1.5 miles)
