Forest bathing at Bedgebury Pinetum

“In the stillness of trees, I am home” - Wendell Berry

Since 2018, Lisa Whitehouse has been guiding forest yoga and mindfulness sessions in the heart of Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, a place where nature feels like home. From Autumn 2025, we're excited for Lisa to offer Forest Bathing Walks, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku.

The first walk will take place on Friday 10 October, then regularly from Spring 2026 dates to be confirmed.

What to expect

"Each walk will be suitable for anyone interested in a gentle approach to feeling happier and healthier in a natural outdoor environment. I will guide you through the woodland using our full range of senses.  Surrounded by 3,500 acres of beautiful pinetum and forest, we will develop mindfulness skills by noticing the small wonders of nature and the calming influence on our nervous system" - Lisa Whitehouse.

These friendly walks last 2.5 hours and are perfect for beginners and open to all. No experience or special equipment is needed, just bring your curiosity and a willingness to slow down.

Group sizes are kept small for a more personal experience.

You will be exploring woodland paths off the beaten track. Please wear warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear.
