Who we are and what we do

We're Forestry England and we live and breathe forests.

As foresters, professionals and experts, we're using our scale and expertise to grow and care for the nation’s forests for this generation and the next. We share recreation opportunities, help wildlife and provide sustainable timber.

We manage more land and trees than any other organisation in England. We provide hundreds of car parks, maintain thousands of miles of trails, and plant millions of trees. And we have to raise most of the money needed for this work ourselves, with less than 10% of our funding coming from government.
