Activity timetable for Feel Good activities at Guisborough Forest

Guisborough Forest offers a range of activities as part of our Feel Good in the Forest project. These activities are free to take part in and include optional time at the end for refreshments and socialising. You can self-refer to the project or be referred by a support organisation or worker.

You must book your space and register in advance to take part.

Tai Chi taster

Dates and times

Sunday 20 October 2024 11am-12pm

Activity details

Join a taster event of mindful movement and enjoy the ancient practice of Tai Chi in the forest. This session aims to introduce you to this gentle exercise to aid flexibility, strength and balance and will include some mindfulness and relaxation. These sessions are delivered by an experienced instructor and can be adapted to suit the needs to those attending.

Walking photography

Dates and times

16 and 30 September and 28 October, 4 and 11 November, 11am-1pm

Activity details

These sessions are designed to help you improve your photography skills with a camera or smart phone. They are in a safe, supportive and friendly environment and include time to share and socialise after each session. After the three sessions your work will be displayed in a small exhibition in the visitor centre for you to bring your friends and family along to see.

Nature journaling

These nature journaling workshops are perfect for beginners and all abilities. They will help you explore your creative side and deepen your experience with nature.

Introduction to Archaeology

Dates and times

The 6-week course is running from 24 September. Sessions run from 10am-2pm

Activity details

Matt will lead you through the Forest's and surrounding areas heritage and a beginner's guide to Archaeology. Throughout the sessions you will explore and create a detailed picture of life in the Forest whilst fostering new social connections.

Forest Yoga

Dates and times

24 September and 8, 15 October.

Activity details

This is a 6-week standing yoga programme among the trees. These sessions are designed for beginners and include a warm-up, standing poses, and a cooldown, gradually building in complexity over the weeks. These sessions are free and are aimed at those wanting to improve their mental and physical health.
