Activity timetable for Feel Good activities at Guisborough Forest

Guisborough Forest offers a range of activities as part of our Feel Good in the Forest programme. These activities are free to take part in and include optional time at the end for refreshments and socialising. You can self-refer to the project or be referred by a support organisation or worker.

You must book your space and register in advance to take part.

Tai Chi

Join others to take part in mindful movement and enjoy the ancient practice of Tai Chi in the forest. This session aims to introduce you to this gentle exercise to aid flexibility, strength and balance and will include some mindfulness and relaxation. These sessions are delivered by an experienced instructor and can be adapted to suit the needs to those attending.

Walking photography

These sessions are designed to help you improve your photography skills with a camera or smart phone. They are in a safe, supportive and friendly environment and include time to share and socialise after each session.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursday of every month.

Forest Yoga

These sessions are designed for beginners and include a warm-up, standing poses, and a cooldown whilst taking in the healing benefits of nature and the forest. All aimed at those wanting to improve their mental and physical health. For more information or to book please contact Kismet Yoga Studia either via the website or phone.

Nature Journaling

Dates and times

Sunday 20 July 10am-1pm. This session is accessible to most and we recommend getting in touch to discuss how we can meet your needs.

Saturday 23rd August 10am - 1pm. This session will be more physical and include exploring more of the forest.

Together, we will slow down and use simple tools that will be provided to connect with the forest and nature in our own way.

There's no pressure to be an artist or writer; it's about noticing, exploring and expressing what we see, hear and feel.

All materials will be provided, and the focus is on enjoyment, curiosity and connection with the natural world.

Mind Over Mountains walks

Dates and times

Wednesday 3 July morning and afternoon.

These walks will be gentle, half day strolls through our forest guided by a Mind Over Mountains walk leader who will show you the way; and you will be accompanied by an experienced coach and a counsellor who can offer 1-2-1 and group wellbeing support as you walk. The walks also include mindfulness sessions learning how to use time walking in nature to support your wellbeing longer term. The walks are completely free of charge - but must be booked in advance. Numbers are limited so that group sizes stay small and friendly, offering a chance to walk and talk and share together. A no pressure, no judgement way to get some support if you or someone you care about are facing mental health challenges, loneliness or feeling in need of some support.

The Men's Wild Haven - Men's mental health group

Dates and times

Fortnightly for 8 sessions from Tuesday 3 June, from 6-8pm.

Men can attend all of the sessions or join as a one off. They will be encouraged to engage in activities like greenwood working and woodland skills to promote mindfulness and resilience. As well as a be included in a supportive, understanding group where they can talk, listen, or simply enjoy the company of others.

NUR in Nature

19th June, 10th and 15th July, 25th Sept, 2nd, 7th, 16th and 21st October 10am-12.30pm

NUR fitness are bringing their passion and expertise to Guisborough Forest and invite all women to join them to increase their confidence, boost their self-esteem and improve their fitness on our walks in nature. NUR fitness work with all women but specialise in working with the BME community. Staff are multi-lingual and are able to cater for all cultural needs. All abilities are welcome.

Forest wellbeing walks - dog friendly

Dates and times

Last Friday of every month at 9.30am

Join us for a walk along our wellbeing trail with your furry friend. These walks are led by our Forestry England staff, Feel Good volunteers and their dogs. The route is 3.5 miles long and we will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.
