Experience the perfect blend of nature, fitness and canine companionship at the CaniX Westonbirt event. Set within the stunning woodland surroundings, this event invites runners and their dogs to enjoy a rewarding morning of trail running while strengthening the unique bond between human and canine.
Canicross (also known as CaniX) is a form of cross-country running with your dog, using specialist equipment adapted from traditional sled-dog sports. Participants run with their dog attached via a secure harness, bungee line and waist belt. A limited amount of equipment is available to borrow from the event organiser (please contact them directly in advance).
The clearly marked 5km route takes runners through Silk Wood, showcasing a variety of terrain including grassy rides, forest paths and peaceful woodland glades.
Dogs of any breed are welcome to take part, provided they are in good health and able to run the distance. This event is suitable for those new to canicross as well as more experienced runners.
All spectators and supporters will be required to pay the standard site admission fee.
