"I started at Forestry England almost two and a half years ago in the IT Team as an IT Project Manager. I joined the organisation during an exciting period of change, helping to migrate and transition IT services from Scotland to England. The opportunity to join Forestry England at the start of their Office 365 migration was particularly attractive, allowing me to apply my previous experience to the role. I also worked on mobile device management (Android and iOS), and provided 2nd line support to our service desk. I then worked with the newly created IT Business Engagement Team to learn and support business functions and business requirements.
My current role allows me to work on what I love: using and configuring IT hardware and software, helping colleagues to solve their issues, and reviewing new technology.
I spent some time helping to get the pilot Microsoft Teams service up and running and now this is fully deployed. Remembering where this started and where we are now makes me very proud.
I enjoy getting out and about visiting other Forestry England sites for various projects and meeting new colleagues. I have a great team and manager, plus as I am a family man (3 children under 12) so working flexibly is important. Being able to work from home really makes my work life balance a joy.
Forestry England has allowed me to be close to my ever-growing family, which is really important to me. Some companies just say that family is important, but here, it is a reality and everyone has been very supportive.
Thank you Forestry England!"
