Sustainably grown British timber
Forestry England are the largest producer of sustainably grown, FSC® and PEFC‑certified timber in England, growing over a million tonnes each year. We supply the sawmilling, wood panel and paper industries, as well as wood energy markets.
We grow and harvest our timber in ways that support essential processes like oxygen generation and the water and carbon cycles. Alongside this we carefully manage a huge range of habitats for wildlife, welcome millions of people into the forests and support local and national economies.
Types of timber and uses
Our forests produce both hardwood and softwood timber ideal for sawlogs for construction, pallets and packaging and fencing. Our small roundwood is used for wood panel and paper manufacture and animal bedding. Our woodfuel is used to generate electricity in power stations and we supply both hardwood and softwood round timber for firewood customers.
We can also supply small volume, specialist products such as coppicing, ship masts or climbing poles.
All our sales go through the eTimber sales platform.
