Mark Holroyd, North District Director

Mark is North District Director.

Having joined Forestry England in April 2019 as Head of Recreation and Communications, Mark was appointed North England Director in April 2026. 

Previously Mark held a number of roles in tourism, countryside access and sustainable transport roles in England’s National Park authorities. 

Mark is passionate about the positive role the nation's forests hold in supporting regional economic growth, and the health, wellbeing and quality of life of communities. He is current chair of Cumbria Tourism and vice-chair of Kielder Water and Forest Park development trust and Morecambe Bay Partnership.
