Michael Barnett, Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Michael is responsible for Commercial Services, HR and Finance at Forestry England.

He joined in May 2026 on an interim basis, having spent his career to date working in the private, voluntary and public sectors. Most recently this was at Trinity House, the General Lighthouse Authority for England and Wales.

Michael is a Chartered Management Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Masters (MSc) in Charity Finance.

Whilst passionate about the environment generally, he is also Chair of a charity helping those in the justice system.
