Discovery Trail at Rendlesham Forest

Embark on an out-of-this-world adventure at Rendlesham Forest with our brand new Discovery Trail, supported by funding from DEFRA Access for All, managed and delivered by Forestry England. 

Step into the story of a friendly family of aliens who have crash-landed in the forest and now live in harmony with nature. 

What to expect

Rendlesham Forest is famously known as “Britain’s Roswell”, thanks to UFO sightings on 26 and 28 December 1980. The Discovery Trail brings this story to life with three imaginative play zones:

Area 1 - Alien Base Camp 

Scramble, slide, and spring your way around this adventurous play area inspired by alien technology and forest life.

Area 2 – The Sky-Gazing UFO

A fully accessible centrepiece that encourages all children to look up, wonder, and dream.

Area 3 – The Story Throne

Sit on the throne and create your own alien adventures, letting your imagination run wild.

Each play zone features inclusive, sensory, and timber-based experiences designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and shared adventure for every visitor.
