Whilst it is marked as a 'permissive horse route' riders will likely encounter other visitors on including pedestrians, dogs and cyclists. Please bear this in mind if you are bringing a nervous horse or you are an inexperienced rider.
Weekdays tend to be quieter than weekends. We recommend horseboxes park in the lay-by on the B1224.
No permit is needed to ride at York Community Woodland.
