We welcome horses and riders alike at Alice Holt Forest, you can explore the varied woodland paths throughout the woods, excluding any prohibited areas/trails as detailed on the map provided by TROT.

There are multiple access points for horse riders, and there are no gates that you will need to open to access the forest. 

A TROT permit is required to ride at Alice Holt. Users must display their TROT permit and stick to authorised routes. 

Toll routes are open during daylight hours only. All toll routes are closed on Christmas Day. Routes may be closed during wet or adverse weather or at the discretion of the landowner or Forestry Commission. Landowners of the toll routes and/or the Forestry Commission reserve the right to close or restrict the routes for purposes of forestry, farm or land management.

The trails are made up of a mixture of surfaces, some are graveled, whilst others are along muddy/grassy tracks.
Parking
Horse box parking is available at the Abbots Wood car park, which is just off Dockenfield StreIf. If parking here, you'll need a box park permit. This is provided at an annual cost of £5.00 to our members.
