Facilities and access

We have reopened our car park and toilets. We are sure many people will be keen to get out and about,  so to  avoid crowds,  please be  aware you may need to  be  prepared to make the  necessary  decision  to  turn around  if the car park looks busy, or is full,  and come another time.

We are working hard to find a way to start to reopen our other facilities, but will only do so when we are happy that it is safe for our visitors and staff alike and that the social distancing advice of staying 2 metres apart from other people is possible. Please support us as we are doing  our  best  for  you :  be kind to  our  staff  and your fellow visitors.

When you  visit the nation’s forests, remember it is your responsibility to follow the new guidance on  staying safe outside your home. We are cleaning our car parking machines throughout the day but for your own safety please bring hand sanitiser with you to use after touching the machines.

The cafe is open for take away food and drink only, but all other activities have been withdrawn, including GoApe, bike hire and archery.

No portable barbecues, disposable barbecues, fires or camp stoves are allowed at Alice Holt Forest.

Alice Holt is the place for exciting outdoor activities in a beautiful woodland setting

In line with new government advice, we’ve opened our car park. If you decide to travel to Alice Holt Forest by car please park legally and responsibly in our car park. Keep highways and gateways clear and leave plenty of room between your car and others for other visitors to pass safely.

Due to Government guidance on play areas, at this time we cannot reopen our play equipment and play areas. Please also note that we have limited facilities at the moment, with the cafe only offering take away food and drink. We are supporting our fantastic business partners to re-open their other services, in line with Government safety advice.

We hope you will enjoy the space and fresh air with a safe, relaxing visit. Please remember that it is your responsibility to follow the guidance on staying safe outside your home.

Please think carefully before you visit and come prepared:

  • For the time being, BBQs are not allowed in any of our forests
  • Make sure you have suitable footwear, and if you plan to cycle, an appropriate helmet
  • Plan for what you will do if the site is closed or looks busy and be prepared to go somewhere else less busy, or return home and visit another time
  • Be kind. Be patient. This is a new experience for all of us. We need your help to make this work.

Thank you for your support us as we are doing our best for you.
