We welcome car-free visitors and offer free admission to those arriving by public transport or bike – plan your journey at Good Journey.

Take the number 18 bus (between Aldershot and Haslemere) and get off at the stop after the petrol station in Bucks Horn Oak.

Facilities and access

We have reopened our car park and toilets. We are sure many people will be keen to get out and about,  so to  avoid crowds,  please be  aware you may need to  be  prepared to make the  necessary  decision  to  turn around  if the car park looks busy, or is full,  and come another time.  

Our main playground, Playwood and our Timberline Trail are now open. On our Habitat Trail, the Dormouse is open, but the Owl, Woodpecker and Tunnels remain closed.  

The cafe is open for take away food and drink only, but bike hire and archery have been withdrawn.

We are operating as a cashless site. Please ensure you can pay for parking and other purchases by card.

No portable barbecues, disposable barbecues, fires or camp stoves are allowed at Alice Holt Forest. 

When you  visit the nation’s forests, remember it is your responsibility to follow the new guidance on  staying safe outside your home. We are cleaning our car parking machines throughout the day but for your own safety please bring hand sanitiser with you to use after touching the machines.

Alice Holt is the place for exciting outdoor activities in a beautiful woodland setting

Come to Alice Holt Forest and explore our walking and cycling trails, play areas and find our magnificent wooden animal play structures as well as the ever popular Gruffalo sculptures.

Children will love the Timberline play trail with its adventure climbing units, challenging balance beams, wobbly bridges and exhilarating slides - hours of play for all the family.

Experience the forest from up high on the thrilling Go Ape Tree Top Challenge course, or if you simply want to relax picnic in the fresh air or enjoy lunch at the café. Why not finish your visit with a quiet stroll or bike ride in one of the more remote parts of the forest?
