Restoring wetland in the historic New Forest
Restore one of the England’s most important wetland habitats.
In the New Forest at Wilverley, we are restoring a rare valley mire - a wetland habitat of international importance. Historic drainage has dried out this precious habitat, reducing the abundance of rare plants and wildlife and the potential to store carbon within layers of deep peat.
Our restoration of this historic and significant site will allow water to return naturally across the landscape. We will remove conifers, reintroduce grazing animals, and create a mosaic of wet habitats that support habitat and species recovery.
The New Forest is home to two-thirds of the UK’s wetland plants and 30% of England’s threatened freshwater species. Restoring this habitat will help support rare species of birds, insects and plants.
Support us from £100,000 per year for three years
The project starts in winter 2027 with tree removal. The restoration of the watercourses is planned for summer 2028, continuing into 2029.
Our partnerships are scalable and the prices indicated here are the starting point required to get these projects running. With greater investment comes greater ambition, engagement, scale and impact for your business.
