Running Trails

Stunning scenery, a higher calorie burn, and increased mental well-being are just a few things to look forward to when you run in the great outdoors. And the options for running at Delamere, are endless. With 1k, 2k, 3k, 5k and 10k options, escape the stuffy gym and get out into the fresh forest air.

The full 10k route follows the trails along the railway, loops around Blakemere Moss - a bird watchers paradise - and returns via the picnic area. Follow the purple waymarkers.

To run 1k, 2k or 3k, look out for the turn-around plaques. Or hop over the road to Whitefield and try the new Forest Fitness Trail.

To run 5k, either head to the Blakemere Trail, used weekly by our many visiting parkrunners or follow the white waymakers and use the shortcut on the 10k. Supported by Sport England and using National Lottery funding, the 5km waymarked trail make running through the forest more accessible, so you can feel confident to just hit the trail and enjoy all the benefits of being active outdoors.
