Join us at Alice Holt Forest to enjoy a fun day out and discover the range of activities we offer to help you plan your perfect class trip to the forest.
What to expect
A relaxed environment where you can chat to us, find out what is on offer, get to know the site and try out some activities.
Choose 13 or 27 August when booking. Come and see us in the classroom at the Education Centre at 10.30am on your chosen day. Browse our resources and chat to us while you enjoy refreshments and then head to the Beech Wood to try out some activities.
- Discover resources available to hire and activities for pupils. We’ll have our Ranger in a Bag options, Sensory Explorer Bag and Orienteering maps out for you to explore.
- Find out about planning a self-led visit to Alice Holt Forest or your local woodland with our lesson plans, learning resources and other on site activities.
- Join Forestry England staff outside to have a go at some of the Ranger in a Bag activities you can use on site with your pupils.
- Take a map of the site and check out the areas we’ve highlighted as the perfect places to take your group.
- Explore our Stick Man education pack and follow the Stick Man trail.
- Hot and cold drinks and biscuits will be available in the classroom – please bring your own reusable cup/water bottle if you have one.

The event is aimed at anyone who is looking for inspiration for a school trip to the forest. You might be an early years educator, teaching assistant or school governor.

Can I arrive earlier or stay later?
Yes! Please do. We would love you to enjoy a day out in the forest with your family or friends. Explore our forest trails, take some time out in nature and enjoy our play areas.
How do I claim my free parking?
You will get free parking for one car. When you attend your booked session tell us your number plate.
Can I bring anyone with me?
You get free parking for one car so please feel free to bring family or friends with you. Children (and adults) in your group are welcome to try out our activities.
