Event details

Bedgebury is famous for its world-class collection of trees, but beyond the towering conifers lies a thriving world of wildlife waiting to be explored.

Come and explore the hidden side of Bedgebury with our learning partners, Kent High Weald Partnership. Discover the diverse habitats, hear fascinating wildlife stories, and learn how conservation projects are helping nature flourish.

From tranquil ponds and wildflower-rich grasslands to open clearings and mature woodland, the pinetum provides a variety of habitats that support an extraordinary range of species. Keep your eyes peeled for some of Bedgebury's most fascinating residents, including 24 species of dragonfly.

Behind the scenes, dedicated volunteers help monitor Bedgebury's moths, butterflies, bats and reptiles, building a better understanding of the wildlife that calls this special landscape home. Why not see how many you can spot?

Exciting conservation work is also underway, with two newly created ponds designed to provide ideal habitat for wildlife, including the hope of attracting the elusive Great Crested Newt.

Don’t forget your binoculars.
