What to expect

The interactive family trail features all sorts of party-themed activities and games, and fun facts to teach you about life in the forest for the Gruffalo and other creatures.

Follow the trail to help find the missing party items to give the Gruffalo a birthday to remember. Search for balloons, pine cones, apples and the Gruffalo himself, and complete fun activities and rubbings as you go along.

When you get to the end, remember to take a party picture with the Gruffalo and characters!

Gruffalo orienteering activity pack on the grass

Try our fun, navigational challenge at a forest near you using a simple map to find twelve Gruffalo markers hidden in the deep, dark wood as quickly as possible. Answer questions along the way and gain valuable skills in decision making and map reading.

Before you begin the trail, pick up a Gruffalo orienteering leaflet with a certificate and map for just £1.50.

Our play areas aim to create fun, inclusive experiences for all children.

You might find quiet zones or sensory features, exploration zones (using natural materials like pine cones, sticks or water) or double width slides, basket or specially-adapted swings and multi-level structures so those with a disability can play alongside others.
