Car parks at Mortimer Forest

Mortimer Forest has three car parks, each is free to use.

Vinnalls Car Park

Vinnalls is the starting point for three walking trails in Mortimer Forest.

We have lots of picnic tables for you to enjoy, and the Easy Access Trail also has seasonal trail to help visitors of all ages learn about the forest.

Three walking trails start from this car park the Easy Access Trail a surfaced trail suitable for buggies and mobility scooters, Vinnalls Loop and The Climbing Jack Trail for seasoned walkers.

Please note that there are height restriction barriers at this car park. Visitors with horse boxes need to use the Black Pool car park for which a key is available for purchase from the forest office.

Find us off the Ludlow to Wigmore road, 2½ miles south-west of Ludlow (Grid ref: SO474731).

 

Black Pool Car Park

Located in the South East of Mortimer Forest, this car park is protected by height restriction barriers (2.1m). 

There’s parking spaces for disabled users and two picnic tables with easy access in a pleasant glade to one side of the car park.

Find us off the B4361 Ludlow to Richard’s Castle road, 2 miles south-west of Ludlow (Grid ref: SO497717).

Visitors with horse boxes need to use this car park, a key is available for purchase from the forest office, please call 0300 067 4440 or email us for more information.

 

Whitcliffe Car Park

Located next to the Forestry England offices, Whitcliffe car park can be found 1 mile south-west of Ludlow, on the Wigmore road. 

Follow the brown tourist sign from Ludford Bridge (Grid ref: SO495740).
