All-terrain mobility scooter hire for Cyril Hart Arboretum

Visitors with permanent or temporary limited mobility can hire an all-terrain mobility scooter (also known as a Tramper) from Speech House Hotel. You do not need to be registered disabled to hire a scooter.

All-terrain mobility scooters:

• are safe and easy to use
• are suitable for anyone over the age of 14, even if you’ve never used a scooter before
• handle a range of surfaces and gradients
• can be used in most weather conditions

First-time users will receive a short introduction about how the scooter works, ensuring they feel confident and comfortable before setting off.

Countryside Mobility

These scooters are provided by the Countryside Mobility scheme, which is supported by Forest Voluntary Action Forum. Originally started by the Foresters' Forest Heritage Lottery funded programme, the scheme continues thanks to funding from the Barnwood Trust and Forest of Dean Ramblers Association.

If you are not already a member, joining is quick and easy and will be part of your induction. Membership options available to you are:

• £3 for a single hire
• £5 for a 2-week taster membership
• £15 for an annual membership

Once you’re a member, you won’t need to repeat this process each time. Your membership works like a “driving licence,” giving you access to over 60 beautiful locations across their partner network.
