Connect with the forest through our Sensory Walk at Wendover Woods

Going for a sensory walk helps you get outside, be active and connect with nature.

Wendover Wood's Sensory Walk is a 0.6 mile circular route that follows our flat, hard surfaced, turquoise play trail route. This walk is suitable for wheelchair usage and has seating at two different Sensory Highlight points. Take in the sights, sounds, scents and textures of Wendover Woods and enjoy being close to nature. This trail is best enjoyed early in the morning when the site opens.

The route starts and finishes at the Information Point start which is short walk from the car park and Wendover Woods Visitor Hub. There is a Changing Places facility at the start/end of the walk.

Before you visit, you may wish to download the Making Walks Sensory toolkit produced by Sense which contains advice on planning walks and some suggested sensory activities. It’s the perfect companion for a sensory walk!

You can access all the Sensory Walks by downloading the free OS Maps app. To find out more about the OS Maps app, discover more Sensory Walks across England, and to download the Making Walks Sensory toolkit visit the Sense website.
