Sold out for on Sat 02 Nov & Sun 03 Nov

Eco-printing is a technique where plants, leaves and flowers leave their shapes, colour, and marks on fabric.  Plant material bundled inside a cloth is steamed to release the dye found naturally inside the plant, creating a beautifully realistic contact print.

This 2 day workshop will allow you to reconnect with nature and set you up with all the basic approaches and techniques of eco-printing. During the day you will produce two lovely eco-printed textiles. Don’t worry if you have no previous experience, I will show you the process, step-by-step, and give you detailed explanations, and practical tips.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and also experienced printers who want to learn about my approach. The processes and techniques will be clearly demonstrated for you to follow. You will be using silk textiles but vegan alternatives are also available.

What’s included in the price?

Tuition in the arboretum learning centre, all textiles and materials (worth approx. £40), preparation of textiles, class notes, tea and coffee, free entry to Westernbirt. If you sign up you will qualify for a free download of the ‘The Botanical Printing guide’ (worth £75).
