Conservation programme aimed at GCSE or A level
Suitable for groups of up to 30 students, October-March
- understand how coppice management is a sustainable management practice.
- be involved in practical conservation through coppicing.
- consider how their work will impact on the biodiversity of the coppice coupe and overall woodland ecosystem.
Take part in coppice restoration at Westonbirt Arboretum using hand tools such a pull saws, bow saws, loppers and mallets. Coppice, process cut material into different products and restock through layering techniques.
