Seeing the wood for the trees
A photography workshop to explore woodland photography; learn how to compose compelling and creative images at this colourful time of year.
Woodlands can be chaotic places to photograph - this workshop will arm you with a set of tools you can use to develop your woodland photography. This workshop is aimed at participants who would like to understand how to explore and interpret woodlands with their cameras. I love photographing woodlands in a way that creates images that show a personal interpretation and interaction with trees. I will create a day that flows, with structured exercises such as looking for compositions, exploring balance in images, choosing the depth of field to match the story you want to tell, and exploring the use of shutter speed amongst others. There will be an element of mindfulness that runs through the day, encouraging participants to become in tune with what they are responding to on a personal basis.
All levels of photographer are welcome on this workshop. However, it will be assumed that you know your way around your camera, and understand the concepts of shutter speed and depth of field. If you are unsure of your skill level in regard to these recommendations, please contact me, I’d be happy to discus.
