Battle Great Wood offers equestrians a chance to ride off the bridleway on gravel tracks to explore almost 450 acres of woodland.

From 1 April 2026, you can purchase an Equestrian Parking Pass to access the designated equestrian-only parking facility at Battle Great Wood.  

With your pass, you’ll enjoy:

  • an equestrian-dedicated area in the car park.
  • year-round riding access to some of the finest forest trails in the South East, including Battle Great Wood, King's Wood, Bedgebury Forest and Hemsted Forest.

De-boxing should only be carried out in the equestrian-only area linked to the Forestry England equestrian parking pass.
