Walking at Battle Great Wood

Walking at Battle Great Wood

Battle Great Wood offers an easy and enjoyable way to experience one of Sussex’s most characterful woodland landscapes.

Without designated walking trails, the woods are criss-crossed by a network of forest roads, creating a variety of options for those looking to explore on foot. The roads themselves provide a clear and inviting passage, ranging from well-gravelled stretches to simpler, un-surfaced tracks.

Visitors have the freedom to wander without following a fixed path, enjoying the calm atmosphere and exploration that feels closer to the natural forest floor.
