Forestry England presents the Arts in Dalby Forest - a collection of artworks that have been inspired by the unique landscape, heritage, people and wildlife of this forest.
Dalby Forest has hosted artists for many years, providing a place to create unique pieces, inspired by the stories of the forest and its naturally distinctive qualities and landscape. The arts are dotted throughout the forest, to tell each story in a purposefully selected location, bringing the forest and the art to life.
Our contemporary arts offer includes workshops, exhibitions and installations all year round. To find out the latest about arts in Forestry England, sign up to our newsletter.

Our next exhibition
June 2025 to November 2025
We the Forest aims to ‘rewild the imagination’ by opening children’s eyes afresh to the wonder of forests through a meld of science and contemporary artwork. New scientific discoveries show that the interconnectedness of the forest runs deeper than we ever imagined. This title explores how all life in the forest is linked and our own human connection to and dependence on the forest.

Nissen Hut
The sculpture Nissen Hut has been created by Turner Prize winning artist Rachel Whiteread and set in the heart of the forest.
Nissen Hut is the artist's first permanent public sculpture in the UK, and is part of her ongoing Shy Sculpture series. It was commissioned to mark the centenary of the Forestry Commission in 2019, and is part of 14-18NOW, the UK's arts programme for the First World War centenary.
