Horse Riding at Delamere Forest
Horse Riding at Delamere Forest
There is path upon path of beautiful woodland to ride at Delamere Forest.
We welcome horse riders to come and explore the forest but as an extremely busy site there are a few things you should know. As a popular site for walking, mountain biking and dog walking, please refrain from riding in the busier areas of the woodland (around the main visitor centre area) and make sure you avoid any designated cycle trails. The best time to visit us with your horse is during term time or before 10am and after 5pm on weekends and school holidays.
If you are bringing a horse box to Delamere the best place to park is at Whitefield car park, where it is quieter. There is plenty of room to load and unload your horses here, and you are already on the Delamere Loop. A 35km route for horse riders following bridleways, minor roads and permissive access through the countryside of central Cheshire.
No permit is needed to ride at Delamere Forest.
For more information on our facilities, parking information, opening times and contact details, please see our visitor information.
