About Deacon Blue

Scottish pop-rock band, Deacon Blue formed in Glasgow in 1985. They're known for their melodic sound, heartfelt lyrics, and soulful blend of rock and pop influences. Fronted by vocalist and songwriter Ricky Ross, with Lorraine McIntosh providing distinctive harmonies, the band rose to prominence in the late 1980s with hits like “Dignity”, “Real Gone Kid” and “Fergus Sings the Blues”.

Hot off the back of sell-out arena shows on their ‘The Great Western Road’ tour, celebrating 40 years since aspiring singer-songwriter Ricky Ross met drummer Dougie Vipond, Deacon Blue will be returning to Westonbirt Arboretum for the first time since 2014.

Joining Deacon Blue for this show will be very special guests, Liverpool legends, Lightning Seeds. Formed in 1989 by musician and producer Ian Broudie, The Lightning Seeds are known for their bright, melodic sound and witty, optimistic lyrics.
