Sensory Walk at Mallards Pike

Connect with the forest through our Sensory Walks at Mallards Pike.

Going for a sensory walk helps you get outside, be active and connect with nature.

Mallards Pike has two different walks for you to try. These can be combined for a longer walk.

The 1km route takes you around the beautiful and scenic lake. The route is flat and is on a hard-packed gravel surface with two short bridges.

The 3km route takes you deeper into the forest, following wide hard-packed gravel roads. There are some small inclines along this route and there is one short section which has a narrower gravel path.

At the end of your walk enjoy a drink and cake in the on-site café (check opening times). Public toilets are available.

Before you visit, you may wish to download the Making Walks Sensory toolkit produced by Sense which contains advice on planning walks and some suggested sensory activities. It’s the perfect companion for a sensory walk!

You can access all the Sensory Walks by downloading the free OS Maps app. To find out more about the OS Maps app, discover more Sensory Walks across England, and to download the Making Walks Sensory toolkit visit the Sense website.
