Seeing the bigger picture

Forests matter to all of us. They clean our air, store carbon, give wildlife a home and offer people space to breathe, explore and connect. But behind all of this is something we don’t always see - the quiet work of nature itself.

This Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosure (TNFD) report is our chance to show that bigger picture. It explains why healthy ecosystems are essential to what we do every day, whether that’s producing sustainable timber, restoring habitats or creating inspiring places for people to enjoy. It also shows how our actions shape nature in return, and why getting this balance right really matters.

Making choices for a better future

As nature faces growing pressures, we face them too. But there is hope in restoration, in recovery, and in the choices we make now. Stronger ecosystems bring stronger forests, greater resilience and new opportunities for people and wildlife.

By adopting the TNFD framework, we’re putting nature firmly at the centre of our decisions and our future plans. Because when nature thrives, everything else we care about thrives with it.

Our first TNFD disclosure gives us a clearer way to explain something fundamental. That our work depends on healthy, resilient nature. This report shows how our forests support the nation, but also how nature supports us, shaping our decisions, our risks and the opportunities ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to explore this report and understand the “why” behind our decisions. Together, we can continue building resilient forests and a healthier future for everyone.
