Dog walking at Mallards Pike

Dogs are welcome to explore Mallards Pike and the Forest of Dean. There are plenty of sights, sounds, and sniffs to tire them out. There is a dog dip area on the far side of the lake if your dog enjoys a swim!

Please be aware that the Forest of Dean is home to very special wildlife. Please keep dogs close by and in sight at all times to make sure they stay on official trails. Read our tips for bringing your dog to the forest.

Accessible walking

The lakeside path around Mallards Pike is fully surfaced and suitable for most wheelchairs and pushchairs. Benches are dotted along the route so you can enjoy the scenery and watch the ducks.

Mobility hire

An all-terrain mobility scooter is available to hire at the Speech House Hotel and can be used at Mallards Pike. This is available to anyone aged 14+ with limited mobility. You do not have to be registered disabled. Please contact the Speech House Hotel to book - 01594 822607.
