Visit Fritham and Eyeworth Pond, take a moment to wander through history

Walk around the man-made gunpowder mill pond or take a walk through the woodland. Keep an eye out for the old black post box near the entrance to Fritham car park, there for the workers of the mill. Wander through the woodlands full of Roman remains.

Fritham is a small village with the village green at it's heart. Visit the pub, named after the ancient oak opposite (over 1000 years old), or join the cycle trail network and ride over to Ogdens.

You are likely to see the New Forest's ponies and cattle. Please treat these animals with care, don’t feed or pet the livestock – keep your distance.

Explore Fritham on two wheels by following the New Forest’s great network of cycle trails. This is one of the largest networks in the New Forest offering a great selection of loops and different routes.

Knightwood Oak

Knightwood Oak is a great place to stop and enjoy a picnic, 'away from it all' and try to imagine what it would have been like over 500 years ago when the famous Knightwood Oak tree began to grow.

The Knightwood Oak is the largest oak in the New Forest, at 7.4m girth, and surely one of the oldest.

Anderwood

Nestled in the trees, Anderwood is the perfect place to park up and enjoy a picnic whilst listening to the sounds of woodland wildlife all around. 

To help prevent wildfires fires, BBQs and outdoor cooking equipment of any kind are banned in the New Forest.

Bolton's Bench

Walk up to the top of the hill at Bolton’s Bench and take a moment to let your mind wander amongst the magestic ancient yew trees. You'll also be treated to picturesque views of the heathland, ancient woodlands and grassy lawns that make the New Forest so special.
