Parking and prices

Day visitors to High Lodge Visitor Centre, Thetford Forest, can now pre-pay in advance online for a full day visit up to seven days in advance, tickets are limited and available on a first to book basis.

Currently, we are not taking any cash at High Lodge, this includes cash payments for car parking, Membership and activity packs/maps.

We are currently operating at reduced capacity so if you visit during a weekend please be  aware you may need to  be  prepared to make the  necessary  decision  to  turn around  if the car park is full, and come another time.

We are generally busiest between 11am and 2pm so avoid arriving at these times to prevent disappointment.

Currently, not all of our visitor facilities are open. We are working hard to find a way to start to reopen our other facilities but will only do so when it is safe for our visitors and staff alike and that the social distancing is possible. Please support us as we are doing  our  best  for  you:  be kind to  our  staff  and your fellow visitors.  

BBQ’s are not permitted and you cannot bring a BBQ on to site. This is to discourage group gatherings.

The toilets will be closed 1:30-2pm for cleaning.

Please note the Pyramid Tower and tunnels are closed due to guidance on covid-19. The zip wire is also closed, awaiting maintenance.

The interpretation panels on the heritage trail are currently covered and not accessible due to current safety measures.

With play areas dotted around the forest, beautiful trails winding through rich wilderness and thrilling mountain biking opportunities, you’ll be itching to return!

The new Heritage Trail is open at High Lodge, built with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy the forest.
