High Lodge, Thetford Forest and the Information Point are open:

- 9am-5pm 14 February to 29 March 2026
- 9am-6pm 30 March to 6 September 2026
- 9am-5pm 7 September to 25 October 2026
- 9am-4pm 26 October 2026 to 13 February 2027
High Lodge Cafe is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm Saturdays, Sundays & school holidays.
We are open every day except for Christmas Day. Please check our website and social media for any updates which may affect your visit before setting off.

Parking and prices
Did you know it costs millions of pounds to manage the nation’s forests? Forestry England must raise enough money ourselves to continue growing and managing our forests now and for future generations. Your car parking fee supports us and the forests you love.
We operate a ticketless and cashless parking payment system that uses number plate recognition technology.
As you arrive, the system records your number plate. At the end of your visit pay at the pay station by entering your car registration. Your number plate will be recognised as you leave and the system will know you’ve paid the right amount for your visit. There are no additional charges for camper vans or motorhomes, and no discounted parking for Blue Badge holders.
Planning on staying all day? You can pre-pay your parking at the discounted rate of £14.50 and skip the pay station queues.

Facilities and access
We no longer take cash at High Lodge. Please see below for details of our facilities.
On site BBQ hire is available but you cannot bring a BBQ on to site.
Please note we are a binless site, and we respectfully ask that you take your picnic rubbish home with you.

The toilets will be open from 9:30am, and will be closed for cleaning between 1:30pm to 2pm, during this time please use the Cafe toilets.
