From Keswick, take the A66 west towards Cockermouth. At Braithwaite village, turn west onto the B5292 for Lorton. Follow Whinlatter Visitor Centre signposts for approximately 3 miles
By Public Transport
We welcome car-free visitors and offer free admission to those arriving by public transport or bike – plan your journey at Good Journey.
During the summer months there is a bus service between Keswick and Whinlatter which gives you the option of travelling via the beautiful Honister Rambler route, route number 77/77A.
Route dates and times may vary so please check the Stagecoach timetable before you travel.

Parking and prices
The main car park is on a 'Pay on Exit' system.
The are two pay stations situated in the main car park and one by the Visitor Centre. The main car park is open 8.30am to 8.30pm
Charges: if you stay for less than 20 minutes, parking is free. Otherwise, the charges below apply.
The machines accept credit and debit cards or pay online at Park with Ease up to 48 hours after your visit. Cash payments available at the visitor centre during opening hours.

- First hour: £2.90
- Additional time: £0.70 per 15 minutes
- All day maximum charge: £14
Charges apply to Whinlatter and Revelin Moss car parks. Parking charges apply at all times to all vehicles, including Blue Badge holders.
If you arrive car-free there is no charge.
Visit often? Members park for free. Buy Whinlatter Forest membership now for £60 to simply park and go while supporting your favourite forest. Or choose to buy a Forestry England national membership for £8 a month (£96 a year, annual contract applies) and enjoy visiting forests all over the country, including nearby sites like Grizedale Forest, Dood Wood and Ennerdale Forest. Membership covers the whole household.
Members: This site has barrierless ANPR. You do not need to display your membership car disc here, your number plate will be recognised. Please visit Manage My Membership if you need to update your vehicle registrations. Only one vehicle is permitted per visit. Free parking for Forestry England national members and Whinlatter Forest members only.
